Comprehensive Safety Action Plan

In 2023, IRPTO secured funding from the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) that aims to reduce fatal and serious injury deaths on our roadways. The development of the CSAP is an important step towards improving safety on our roads for all users. The CSAP will use a data-driven approach to analyze crash history, community demographics and citizen concerns. This approach will allow for the effective identification, prioritization, and implementation of safety improvements that will aim to reduce the frequency and severity of collisions in Island County.

Safe Streets and Roads Dashboard: Fatal and Serious Injury (FSI) Crashes in Island County

A critical piece of Vision Zero is to create a system for tracking progress and evaluating the efficacy of the strategies recommended in the planning process. The Safe Streets and Roads Dashboard is an interactive tool that displays some of the key crash trends and locations in Island County. Using data to transparently track and communicate the region's efforts and the outcomes of these efforts is central to achieving the Vision Zero goal.
